Exploration of Depth and Movement, Inspired by a Moment when the Ocean Darkens
There is a moment just before night settles over the water — when the tide deepens, the light softens, and everything feels both powerful and calm. Midnight Tide was designed in that moment. As the opening look of the Tidal Grace Collection, Midnight Tide sets the rhythm for the entire story. It is not simply swimwear, and it is not simply a dress. It is a piece designed for movement — between water and land, between day and evening, between presence and ease.
At its core, Midnight Tide is about fluid confidence.
DESIGN INTENTION
The plunge neckline creates a strong, elongated line through the body, while the criss-cross detailing introduces both structure and softness. In its swim form, the piece is sculptural and secure — designed to support the body without restricting it. When converted into its tiered ruffle dress form, the design shifts entirely, allowing movement and drape to take over.
This transformation is intentional. The tiers are placed to create rhythm rather than volume, echoing the natural rise and fall of the tide itself. The result is a silhouette that feels expressive without being overwhelming — dramatic, but wearable.
The ocean-marble print was chosen to bring depth rather than contrast. It mirrors water in low light: layered, dimensional, never flat.

THE DESIGN PROCESS
Midnight Tide was developed during my time at Fashion Institute of Florida, where I learned to blend traditional construction techniques. Each piece in the Tidal Grace Collection was created to move seamlessly between swim and resort through thoughtful structure, proportion, and convertible detail.
