EMBER LINE SWIMWEAR

A STRUCTURED TWO-PIECE — ONE-SHOULDER TOP, HIGH-WAISTED BOTTOM — MADE AND WORN AT MIAMI SWIM WEEK.

A two-piece in red glitter swim fabric, made for Miami Swim Week as part of a swimwear course at Fashion Institute of Florida. I had eight days to design, pattern, cut, and construct two complete looks from scratch, so the one-shoulder top and high-waisted bottom were kept clean and simple on purpose — there wasn't time for anything more complicated.

BEHIND THE SEAMS

The glitter fabric went everywhere — cutting mats, seams, the studio floor, all of it. Two days before the show, a single silver sandal showed up in the mail instead of a pair; I had to rush-order another set and hope they'd arrive in time. They did.

The bag is a Japanese knot bag I made in the same fabric to go with the look. After the show, people came up to tell me how much they loved it — it landed well on the runway.
